The second annual WiVi Central Coast concluded its two-day wine industry conference and trade show with over 1,400 total attendees, almost 1,000 attendees and over 400 exhibitor staff. The Central Coast-focused symposium, presented by Wine Business Monthly and Precision Ag Consulting, featured a sold-out trade show with 40,000 square feet of exhibit space with 125 exhibiting companies. The conference took place on March 19 and 20 at the Paso Robles Event Center.

The show was well-supported by the local wine industry with support from six wine trade associations—Paso Robles Wine Country Alliance, Monterey Wine Country, Santa Barbara County Vintners, San Luis Obispo Vintners, Santa Cruz Mountain Winegrowers and the Independent Grape Growers of Paso Robles—and 27 corporate sponsors.

The 2014 conference included sessions on winemaking, viticulture and direct-to-consumer marketing, as well as a session presenting the results of Wine Business Monthly’s Salary Survey for the Central Coast. Two of the most popular sessions included tastings: Kevin Sass of Halter Ranch led attendees through a comparative tasting of the effects of various barrels and toasts on a finished wine, and Lance Cutler of Wine Business Monthly conducted a Varietal Focus tasting of Grenache. Articles on each of these tastings will appear in future issues of Wine Business Monthly.
