18-year-old shot Nov. 1

An 18-year-old from Arroyo Grande was shot at 36th and Spring streets early Friday morning, according to police.

Paso Robles Police responded to a report of shots fired Nov. 1 at about 1:22 a.m. in the 3000 block of Spring St. Residents reported hearing what they believed to be several gun shots in the area, and then seeing two males running northbound on Spring St. yelling for people to call 911.

Responding Officers arrived in the area and located an 18 year-old victim with an apparent gunshot wound. The victim, who was conscious and responding to officers, suffered a gunshot wound to the arm and abdomen.

The victim was treated at the scene by Paso Robles Emergency Services, and then transported to Sierra Vista Hospital where he was last listed in stable condition. The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation including whether this incident might be gang related.

Investigators currently do not have any suspect information or description. Investigators are requesting the public’s assistance with solving this crime. Note: Police initially reported the incident occurred the morning of Halloween, Oct. 31, then issued a correction that it occurred the morning of Nov. 1.
