Senior Volunteer services agreement renewed
Scott Street senior center will continue to create, schedule programs and services for seniors
–On Tuesday, June 7 the Paso Robles City Council renewed the service agreement between the city and Senior Volunteer Services for the continued staffing at the city’s senior center.
Assistant City Manager Meg Williamson said under this agreement, the centre will create and schedule programs and services for seniors within the community, fully utilizing the city owned building on Scott Street.
Open since July 2002, the center hosts a myriad of activities that assist senior citizens in everyday living, which range from art classes, driver safety, exercise and more. Approximately 100 volunteers perform important tasks at the centre to keep the senior centre running smoothly, including leading classes, working in the senior center kitchen, delivering meals, working at the reception desk, overseeing the library, and conducting health screenings.
The Paso Robles Senior Center is located at 270 Scott Street in Paso Robles and is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information, call (805) 237-3880.
