Color My Future 5K Run set for Pleasant Valley School 

Color runThe Pleasant Valley School Roadrunners is hosting a Color My Future 5K Run and walk this Sunday through the rolling hills and vineyards surrounding the school. All proceeds go toward establishing a new computer lab at the school. Locals are invited to bring the family and enjoy the finish line block party with tri-tip barbecue, games and a silent auction.

The 5K course is a double loop through the scenic vineyards adjacent to the school. It is closed-course, off road with slight hills. Walkers and strollers are welcome.

A color run is a fun run/walk of 3.1 miles that brings fun and exercise together. Along the path there will be stations where color is powdered on runners. By the finish line participants will be fully plastered in color. The color is made from food coloring and cornstarch, it is all natural and safe, organizers say.

The run is Sunday, April 6, 2014. Check-in starts at 7:30 a.m., race starts at 8:30 a.m. Pleasant Valley School is located at 2025 Ranchita Canyon Rd, San Miguel, CA. Entry fees are $30 for adults and $15 for youths. There will also be a mini color run 1/2-mile track loop for children 9 and under for $15. Race participants receive a logo t-shirt and continental breakfast after the race. Registration is available at http://colormyfuturerun.weebly.com/
