Adoptable pets of the week: Feline brothers and a litter of puppies

– This week’s edition of North County Adoptable Pets of the Week features a pair of feline brothers and a whole litter of puppies.

The cat of the week from North County Humane Society is a “2-fur” – brothers Bo and Luke.

Bo and LukeRather than growing up in fictional Hazzard County, brothers Bo and Luke were born and raised in Atascadero. Like the TV stars they were named after, these energetic 1-year-olds can cause quite a ruckus when it comes time to play, but you can have fun with these boys without worrying about fast cars, cold beer and Sheriff Rosco.

These brothers were brought to NCHS about one month ago when their owner could no longer keep them. They play well with NCHS visitors and get along well with other cats – it is hoped that they can find a new home together. Bo and Luke have been neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped, and are ready to join the right household today.

Available cats and kittens can be seen on the website at www.slonchs.org. Potential pet parents are also encouraged to stop by and visit with the cats to find the right one for their family.

The North County Humane Society is located just off of Highway 101 by the Del Rio Road exit at 2300 Ramona Rd. in Atascadero. Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Complete information is listed on the website, or call NCHS at 466-5403.

A whole little of puppies is available for adoption this week from Second Chance at Love, a dog rescue and sanctuary in Templeton that takes in abandoned, neglected, abused or abandoned dogs. There are five puppies in total. Four girls: Salsa, Ginger, Cassi and Stella, and one boy, Biscuit.

These adorable puppies were rescued from deplorable conditions. They came to Second Chance filthy, ill, and malnourished. It took a few weeks and some long nights at the hospital but they are now healthy and ready to find their new home.

Stella

Stella is another puppy that needs a forever home.

These Terrier/Chihuahua mixes weigh in at 5-pounds and are about 12 weeks old. Their final size will be about 15 pounds.

They are typical rambunctious healthy puppies. They are doing great with their training and love going on their walks. For information about adopting a puppy, visit the website or call 434-3982.
