Adoptable pets of the week: Lunis and Jimmy

– This week’s edition of North County Adoptable Pets of the Week features tuxedo cat Lunis and labrador mix Jimmy.

From North County Humane Society, a no-kill cat shelter and adoption center in Atascadero, is Lunis.

Lunis is ready

Lunis is ready available for adoption at North County Humane Society.

Lunis is a one-year-old, female, black and white tuxedo cat who came to the center in April from Paso Robles. She was a stray, and the property owners were concerned that their dog could injure her. She must have something against dogs, as she was quickly adopted, then returned for picking fights with the neighbor’s dog, and brought back again, the shelter says.

Lunis is affectionate, fun and playful, and she has a feisty streak. She would probably like a “dog free” household, but gets along well with children. She is neutered, microchipped and vaccinated – ready to join a new family today.

Available cats and kittens can be seen on the website at www.slonchs.org. Potential pet parents are also encouraged to stop by and visit with the cats to find the right one for their family.

The North County Humane Society is located just off of Highway 101 by the Del Rio Road exit at 2300 Ramona Rd. in Atascadero. They are open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Complete information is listed on the website, or call NCHS at (805) 466-5403, and ask for the “Crazy Cat Lady.”

Jimmy is available for adoption at Second Chance at Love.

From Second Chance at Love, a dog rescue and sanctuary in Templeton that takes in abandoned, neglected, abused or abandoned dogs, comes Jimmy.

Jimmy was rescued from one of the highest kill shelters in California. He is a 40-pound, two-year old, male Labrador mix with a heart of gold. He loves people, kids, dogs and cats. He can be a little shy at first, but then bonds completely.

Jimmy loves to go on walks and car rides. He is a healthy, happy boy who adores playing ball but is not obsessive over it. He’s housebroken, crate trained and walks great on a leash. He’s a perfect dog, all he needs now is a home of his own. For information about adopting Jimmy, visit the website or call (805) 434-3982.
