Almond Acres hosts, ‘Meet the Teacher Picnic’

Almond-acres-meet-the-teachers– On Monday, Almond Acres Charter Academy held its 4th annual, “Meet the Teacher Picnic” for the 2015-2016 school year. Over 160 students and their families gathered in the grassy quad to partake in a picnic dinner and meet their child’s teacher. One of the academy’s teachers, Matthew Clough from the band The Cloud Nines, entertained the crowd with his singing and guitar playing during the picnic.

“This event allows children to meet their teacher and be introduced to the entire Almond Acres staff, and provides an opportunity for new families, as well as returning families, to connect with one another.” says Program Director Amy Baker.Meet the teacher event

The new school year started on Wednesday. The academy is accepting requests for enrollment for K-8 grade and the form can be downloaded at www.aacacademy.com. If there is space available, students can enter immediately. If the grade level is at maximum capacity, students will be placed on a waiting list and notified if space does become available.

The school is hosting a campus tour next Thursday, Aug. 27 at 9 a.m. to give families, as well as community members, an opportunity to meet with the executive director and to learn about the school’s educational philosophy.
