Amgen bicycle race moving through county May 14-15 

AmgenStages Four and Five of The Amgen Tour of California Bicycle Race will move through Monterey, Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties next week in the following locations:

  • On Wednesday, May 14, the cyclists will leave the Monterey area heading south on Highway 1 at approximately 12 noon. The cyclists will reach Cambria at approximately 3:30 pm.
  •  On Thursday, May 15, the cyclists will leave Pismo Beach at 11:45 am. The cyclists will use sections of State Route 227 near Arroyo Grande and approach State Route 166 from Thompson Road at 12:45 pm. In Santa Barbara County, the cyclists will use State Route 154 from Foxen Canyon Road at approximately 2:20 pm. The cyclists will complete their trip in Santa Barbara at 3:45 pm.

The California Highway Patrol will oversee these rolling highway closures for this event. Caltrans will post electronic message signs and assist with traffic control so motorists are aware of the cyclists and support vehicles.
