Atascadero Chamber of Commerce hires Carrie Head

Carrie Head

Carrie Head is the newest hire at the Atascadero Chamber of Commerce.

The Atascadero Chamber of Commerce announced last week hiring Carrie Head to the staff as the new membership development director. Head comes to the chamber with an extensive background in community relations, marketing, sales, public relations and special event coordination.

Head’s professional career included eight years working in the tourism marketing field at the San Luis Obispo County Visitors and Conference Bureau as the community relations manager. In her position, she was actively involved in the creation and development of a variety of integrated, multi-channel marketing and publicity campaigns. Also, she oversaw the communications department, writing press releases, interfacing with the media and coordinating sight-seeing tours for travel journalists. She was the editor of eight county visitors guides, with several guides winning top marketing awards from the California Office of Tourism. In addition, she sold memberships, attended trade shows, and coordinated a variety of special events and community outreach.

Previously, Head utilized her journalistic skills she earned while earning her degree in communications from California State University, Chico. She says she thoroughly enjoyed working in the fast-paced local media as editor of San Luis Obispo County Magazine and in the newsroom at KSBY-TV.

Through the years, Carrie has donated her time and efforts to several non-profit organizations and been involved with the local community. She was a board member for the San Luis Obispo County Arts Council and a member of the San Luis Obispo County Creative & Marketing Alliance.

Carrie is thrilled to be a part of the chamber team and looks forward to meeting and networking with the current members and welcoming new members. In addition, she will be writing press releases and newsletter articles, publicizing the good will of the chamber. She will also be an active participant in the ambassador and member benefits committees.

Overall, Carrie is excited to share the many beneficial programs the chamber has to offer with the membership base, fulfilling their needs to promote and successfully grow their individual businesses; ultimately increasing the visibility and positive growth of the chamber and the city of Atascadero.
