Storytelling Folk duo Misner & Smith will be featured at Sculpterra Winery’s monthly Songwriters At Play Showcase. Crafting songs rich in meaning and texture, Misner & Smith’s sound is anchored by their unique vocal harmonies and evocative lyrics.
Sam Misner and Megan Smith met as actors, both cast in the Woody Guthrie tribute, “American Song”. They discovered a mutual love of roots music, and in particular, harmony singing. Inspired by both music and theater, Misner & Smith offer a refreshing take on contemporary folk music. Special guests on August 11 include Rob Kimball, Heather Rose, Ricky Montijo, and a duo called Dirty Cello.
Songwriters At Play holds showcases every Sunday afternoon, 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Sculpterra Winery, 5015 Linne Road, Paso Robles, 805-226-8881. The showcase includes one featured act and others playing 4-song sets. We pass the tip jar during the featured set, otherwise no cover. All ages are welcome. It’s a great place for a family picnic.
