Bearcats beat Righetti Warriors

Bearcats football paso robles–The Paso Robles Bearcats beat the Righetti Warriors in Santa Maria Friday Night, 48-27. The Bearcats jumped out to a 27-0 lead in the first quarter and led 48-7 at halftime.

The game was played without longtime head coach Rich Schimke. School district administrators placed Schimke on paid administrative leave early this week because of an incident involving Schimke and a student. Police and the district attorney’s office each investigated the incident and cleared Schimke of any wrong-doing. Each department concluded that Schimke did not violate any law governing the conduct of teachers and their students. The school district is continuing its own investigation. Administrators will not describe the incident.

With the victory over the Warriors, the Bearcats improve to 7-2 for the season. They are 2-1 in conference play.

The Bearcats travel to Atascadero to take on the Greyhounds next Friday night. It’s their final game of the regular season. Last night, Atascadero lost to Arroyo Grande, 45-24. The Greyhounds are also 2-1 in the Pac-5 Conference, 5-4 overall.
