–The Paso Robles Bearcats traveled to Morro Bay Friday night to do battle with the Pirates (0-5) and had little trouble earning a 49-0 victory. With the win, the Bearcats even their record to 3-3 before beginning league play next week against the highly-ranked Arroyo Grande Eagles.

The Bearcats dominated on both offense and defense, scoring on seven of their eight possessions. Playing only in the first half of the game, Bearcat running back Christian Erickson scored on touchdown runs of 81 and 24 yards and ran for 150 yards on seven carries. Paso quarterback Justin Davis scored on a 5-yard touchdown run and running back Matt Keller had a 2-yard touchdown run to give the Bearcats a 28-0 lead at the half.

The second half featured Paso Robles Coach Schimke giving numerous Bearcats reserve players the opportunity to get in some valuable playing time on the field. The Bearcats kept the ball on the ground in the second half and had impressive performances from a trio of running backs – Ronnie Ochoa ran for 47 yards and two touchdowns, Elijah Palomino ran for 62 yards, and Robert Mares added a 35-yard touchdown run. Bearcats kicker Jonathan Jaimes was a perfect seven for seven on extra points in the game.

The Paso Robles Bearcats are set to travel to Arroyo Grande to face the Eagles (5-1) on Friday, Oct. 9. The Eagles will be looking to avenge two losses to the Bearcats last year, including a 28-21 loss in the CIF playoffs semi-finals. Varsity game time is 7 p.m., with the JV players taking the field at 4 p.m. The Frosh Bearcats will host the Eagles on Thursday, Oct. 8 at 5 p.m.
