Proceeds will benefit Sierra Service Project
–Bobby Jo Valentine will perform a special concert at Atascadero United Methodist Church, 11605 El Camino Real in Atascadero on Sunday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m. This will be a fundraiser for Sierra Service Project teams, which are made up of middle school and senior high school students who spend a week during the summer doing service work. Tickets are a suggested donation of $25 per adult and children are free. Dessert and coffee will be served. Child care will be available for free. With transcendent lyrics and a voice that touches the soul, Valentine captures the heart of audiences across the country. “Bobby writes with a sweetness and honesty seldom heard in acoustic pop music,” Lucey said.
Just as importantly, those same attributes have earned Valentine an ever-expanding fan base and, most recently, the 2015 West Coast Songwriter Association’s Songwriter of the Year Award. His new album, “Fox Eyes, Whale Heart,” is full of poetry that asks why people believe what they believe, how to be hopeful when it feels like they’re at the bottom of everything, and where to go from there.
