Buzz Marathon at Camp Roberts
Race benefits athletic programs
The 17th Annual Buzz Marathon will take place at Camp Roberts on Saturday, Feb. 19. Billed as “the best meditative run with Mother Nature you’ll ever have,” proceeds from the event support Lillian Larsen Elementary School athletics programs and the USA WOA Gold Coast Chapter project: Sacramento Children’s Receiving Home.
The event includes a marathon, half-marathon, 5K and children’s mile, with all participants receiving t-shirts and medals; there will be awards to the top finishers.
Child care available. Museum and Annex open for browsing as well as some vehicle displays
Starting at 620′ above sea level the course goes out and back rising to 977′. It is quiet and serene with wildlife spectators, spectacular views, training and research sites; aid stations and porta-potties every two miles: mile-2 use the gym, 4.2, 6, 8.2 (half marathon turn around), 10, 12, 14, and 14.9 (full marathon turn around) manned by parents, students, and alumni.
