Candidates for Atascadero City Council and Atascadero Mayor, as well as committees that have raised money, submitted their forms reporting financial contributions for the upcoming election on Nov. 4. This year’s election’s financial intake is less than in past years when contributions were more than $20,000 for some candidates. The candidate with the most raised for the campaign is incumbent Tom O’Malley in the mayoral election with $9,545 and appointed incumbent Heather Moreno in the city council race with $9,093.93. O’Malley’s challenger, Charlie Scovell, has raised $3,025. In the council race the other candidates have raised: Brian Sturtevant with $6,949, Len Colamarino with $3,950 and Chuck Ward with $2,946.
