Launch party set for 6th annual ‘Tour of Paso’

Tour of Paso

Tour of Paso is March 22 and benefits the Cancer Support Community

Calling all cyclists – a launch party will be held on Thursday, Feb. 6 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Castoro Cellars to kick off fundraising efforts for the 6th Annual Tour of Paso Founder’s Team Challenge, taking place on March 22.

The Tour of Paso, an annual bike ride and wine fest, directly benefits the Cancer Support Community – California Central Coast, formerly The Wellness Community. Community members and businesses are encouraged to turn out for the Launch Party, enjoy some food, wine and music and fun while learning more about the opportunity to form teams and raise funds that will help provide free cancer support for patients, caregivers and loved ones throughout San Luis Obispo County.

“This annual bike ride has turned out to be quite an event, bringing people from across the state,” said CSCCCC Executive Director Christie Kelly. “With great prizes, food and wine – and a route that takes riders along scenic country roads – the Tour of Paso is not to be missed.”

All skill levels, from beginners to advanced, are offered their choice of three routes – 50, 26 and 4-miles – through the Paso Robles wine country region, all starting and ending at Niner Estates off Highway 46 West. Riders raising more than $500 are eligible for prizes donated by local businesses; an awards ceremony and barbecue lunch will take place at the finish line party.

“The teams really get into the ride,” said Kelly, “and they have a lot of fun. Knowing that the proceeds help provide support for patients, caregivers and loved ones is a big draw as well.”

Sponsorship opportunities are available – various levels will receive merchandise such as bike jerseys and wine, as well as name recognition, logo placement and more.
