City council approves lease to allow for Warbirds Museum expansion
Lease will allow museum operations expand into nine acres west of their existing facility
–At their Tuesday night meeting, the Paso Robles City Council approved a new lease agreement with the Estrella Warbirds Museum that will allow their museum operations to expand into the nine acres located west of their existing facility on Dry Creek Road.
The museum has successfully built-out their current eight acre site with displays that pay tribute to military and aviation history, and has hosted over 50,000 visitors in the past five years. Plans for the expansion include over 84,000 square feet of new hangar space, banquet room, and offices, along with approximately 98,000 square feet of outdoor exhibition area and new parking.
The expansion of the museum’s buildings and displays are considered to be of significant public benefit, says Paso Robles Assistant City Manager Meg Williamson.
