City to create Economic Development Program
–At the most recent Paso Robles City Council meeting, the council agreed to work in partnership with the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce and Hispanic Business Association to formally create a quality Economic Development Program for Paso Robles.
The preliminary next steps will involve negotiating the full scope of the program and finalizing an agreement with the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce to act as a lead agency in these efforts. The program will include the chamber hiring an economic development professional, and an ad hoc Economic Development Committee will be formed to help guide and monitor the effort.
The city will provide seed money, using a portion of the upcoming settlement payment from PG&E associated with the Diablo Canyon closure.
