City seeks Airport Advisory Committee members 

Airport Advisory Committee member applications available

City is accepting applications through Sept. 30

Airport Advisory CommitteeThe City of Paso Robles will accept applications for appointment to the Airport Advisory Committee until 5 p.m. Monday, September 30, 2013.

Terms are expiring for current members Kevin Kuhn, Angel York and Wayne Rice.

Applications may be obtained at the City Hall, 1000 Spring Street, or at the Airport website, www.pasoairport.com. For more information, please contact the Airport Office at (805) 237-3877 or Deputy City Clerk (805) 237-3960.

The Paso Robles Municipal Airport is a 1,300-acre facility about 4 miles from downtown Paso Robles. It was originally built in 1943 as the Estrella Army Air Field, but saw little military activity. Its advent paved the way for the future of aviation in the area.

About the Paso Robles Airport Advisory Committee

The Paso Robles Airport Advisory Committee (AAC) acts in an advisory capacity to the City Council and Airport Services Coordinator in matters pertaining to aeronautical activities, proposed uses and safety of operations of the Paso Robles Municipal Airport.

Additionally, it is the responsibility of this Committee to aid the City Council in its efforts to ensure that the current Airport Master Plan, Airport Land Use Plan, and other related planning documents are reflective of current attitudes, directives and projections regarding aeronautical activity at the Airport.

The committee has five members and one alternate. They serve in 2-year staggered terms. The current chairman is Jim Willis and the vice-chair is Angel York.

It meets regularly on 4th Thursday of each month at 7 p.m. at the Paso Robles Airport Terminal, 4900 Wing Way, Paso Robles, CA 93446.
