Clean up day planned in San Miguel

San Miguel Fire Department

San Miguel Firefighters Association’s next “Clean up Day” will happen August 1 at the San Miguel Community Services District building, located at 1150 Mission St. It will commence at 8 a.m. and go until it’s full. The clean up day is an opportunity for an Miguel residents to bring large trash items to be disposed.

Items accepted:

  • Large household items such as furniture, mattresses ($10 fee for each), and other things that won’t fit into a regular garbage can
  • Metal items such as washers, dryers, refrigerators, freezers, scrap metal of any kind
  • Small batteries & electronic items such as TV’s, VCR’s computers, monitors, stereos, etc

The San Miguel Garbage Company donates their service and the firefighters donate their time for the clean up days, but they have to pay a $350 dump fee plus $10 per mattress, so donations are needed to insure that this event continues. Donations may be made to the SMFA Cleanup Committee.
