A large crowd turned out Thursday evening to celebrate the completion of an extensive two year renovation of the historic Paso Robles Inn. A wide assortment of food samplings were served and wines were poured for the guests by the Paso Robles Wine Club and Hope Family Wines.

At the entrance to the Paso Robles Inn, a new garden setting greets arriving guests.

Along nearly every step of the private, staff-led tours, attendees were shown something new that had been added, revamped or refinished while keeping with the historic charm of the Inn. The Inn started the renovation last year by launching a unique wine partnership with 17 local wineries and local brewery, Firestone. Eighteen deluxe mineral spa rooms dedicated to the project have been renovated from top to bottom, including updated bathrooms, furnishings, amenities and new spa tubs. The winery and brewery partners provided representative touches in art, furniture and accessories to theme each room. The suites feature a variety of unique decorative items, from a real grape vine in the Ancient Peaks Winery suite, to wine barrel chairs in the DAOU Suite, to beautiful murals over the spa tubs and glass lamps filled with corks.

This year, the Inn’s renovations moved to the Grand Ballroom building, with the lobby and foyer receiving new carpeting and reupholstered furniture. The twelve upstairs guest rooms have been completely renovated with new luxury furniture and décor.

In the redesigned Coffee Shop at the Paso Robles Inn, locals and guests can now enjoy a selection of specialty coffees.

Outdoor improvements include Chef Paul Arangorin’s garden planted with peppers, basil, kale, and other herbs, vegetables ad spices found on the Steakhouse Restaurant menu; the restaurant patio has been updated with new furniture and accessories. In the redesigned Coffee Shop, still boasting its classic charm but with an updated look, locals and guests can now enjoy a selection of specialty coffees.

At the entrance to the Inn, seven parking spaces were removed to allow for a new garden setting to greet arriving guests.

“Mari Landscaping designed the lighting and added drought resistance plants, ” said Paso Robles Inn and Steakhouse General Manager Erica Fryburger. “The result is very welcoming and inviting. The pathways and the garden bring people in and the design really keeps with the overall beauty of the city.”

And as a nod to the 125th anniversary of Paso Robles, a new mural now adorns the exterior of the winery themed building. The 25-foot-by-30-foot mural—informally titled, “The Dawn of Paso Robles,” draws inspiration from the area’s rich history of wine making. The mural is an original work by local artist Steve Kalar and focuses on the people and animals who work so hard in the winemaking process.

“We are located in one of the most historic spots in California, on top of a natural hot springs that has been used for healing and relaxation for centuries,” said Noreen Martin, CEO of Martin Resorts. “But that’s not enough. We wanted to continue to add value to this incredible historic property to keep pace with the excitement that’s happening in Paso Robles.”
