Council approved lease extension for Sherwood Dog Park
Park lease renewed for five years
–At their most recent meeting, the Paso Robles City Council approved a five-year lease extension for the Sherwood Dog Park located on Scott Street.
Under the oversight of the non-profit group Parks 4 Pups, this dog park was constructed in 2012 and has since been successfully serving many dogs and their owners each day, at no cost to the city.
The Sherwood Park Master Plan proposes the eventual conversion of this property into four tennis courts, a sand volleyball court and restrooms, but such conversion is not proposed for several years. The current lease is consistent with other non-profits using city property to provide community amenities, and is set to expire as of Feb. 1, 2017. The Sherwood Dog Park Board of directors asked to extend the lease term by five years.
