Levy renewed to continue promotion of Paso Robles tourism

Council renews Tourism and Lodging Promotions Business Improvement District annual assessment levy

City of Paso Robles–At Tuesday’s Paso Robles City Council meeting, council adopted a motion to renew the annual assessment levy for the Paso Robles Tourism and Lodging Promotions Business Improvement District.

At the request of the majority of Paso Robles hoteliers, the business improvement district was formed by the council in December 2008 and became effective January 16, 2009. The assessment is levied on an annual basis and has been renewed every year since 2009. Renewal of the assessment requires that the council receive an annual report on the budget and workings of the business improvement district and set a public hearing for consideration of the renewal of the levy of assessment.

On April 26, 2016, the Travel Paso Robles Alliance Advisory Committee recommended approval and distribution of the 2015 Annual Report, and the proposed 2016/17 Marketing Plan/Budget. On May 17, 2016, the council approved the annual report and directed that it be made available for public review in the city clerk’s office.

The advisory committee marketing efforts continue to support an upward trend in transient occupancy stays within the community. The committee has recommended a continued levy of the assessment in order to carry on work efforts towards the marketing and promotion of the Paso Robles area.
