Crews fill in sinkhole on York Mountain Road

San Luis Obispo County road repair crews filled a sinkhole Wednesday on York Mountain Road, just off Highway 46 West. The sinkhole opened up on the west end of York Mountain Road after a week of heavy rains. A creek, cascading down a steep canyon, had pooled on the north side of the road.
Wednesday morning a crew filled the sinkhole and covered the fill dirt with pavement.
Road crews also removed a tree and dirt sliding down a slope on York Mountain Road just west of Shadow Canyon Road. The slide occurred near Debbie Sullivan’s Rancho de las Cabras Canelas.
