Songwriters At Play Showcase Features Dan Frechette & Laurel Thomsen Sept. 22

Canadian singer-songwriter Dan Frechette and California-based violinist-singer Laurel Thomsen are returning to Paso Robles. The two originally met on the internet, and played their first shows together last year, including a visit to our showcase at Sculpterra. Now with more than sixty shows and festival appearances under their belt, they have also celebrated the release of their first CD.

Dan is a veteran troubadour with 1,500 songs to his name, 22 albums, and songs covered by several bands, including Ireland’s Dervish, Canada’s The Duhks, and Australia’s The Ploughboys. Laurel had made the leap from Classical training to playing in bands, arranging, and recording. She also has a solo CD, “Light and Shadow”.

Also in the Sept. 22 lineup: George Nauful, Dulcie Taylor, and Bay Area singer-pianist Rachel Efron.
Songwriters At Play holds showcases every Sunday afternoon, 1:00 – 4:00 pm at Sculpterra Winery, 5015 Linne Road, Paso Robles, 805-226-8881. The showcase includes one featured act and others playing 4-song sets. We pass the tip jar during the featured set, otherwise no cover. All ages are welcome — great place for a family picnic.
