The owners of Daou Vineyards announced they purchased Twilight Vineyards on Jan. 1, 2013.

The neighboring vineyard on Adelaide Road was once branded as Thunderbolt Junction and most recently owned by Richard and Aurora Gumerman.

The property was originally planted by Dr. Stanley Hoffman with the help of world-famous winemaker Andre Tchelistcheff in the 1960s.

In 2007, Daniel and Georges Daou began their vision of a world class winery in the Adelaida District of Paso Robles. The opened an expansive tasting room with 270-degree panoramic views about a year ago.

The Daous now own the ‘Hoffman Mountain’ in the Adelaida district at 2,200 ft. and its 212 surrounding acres. It is considered one of the oldest existing modern wineries in the Paso Robles wine growing region.

Dr. Hoffman established the winery in the 1960’s and brought Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes to the region, proving the local climate and soils were a perfect combination for growing and producing great Burgundian-style Pinot Noir and hearty Cabernet Sauvignon wines.
