Dave Kinman dies at 46

Dave Kinman

In loving memory of Dave Kinman

– By Kris Gustafson

Dear friends and fellow boaters,

On Aug. 26 the world lost one of the greatest men that I ever had the pleasure of having in my life, Dave Kinman. He was taken from us in a work related accident way too soon.

Kinman was a gentle giant, at 6’5″ he stood above the crowd and had a larger than life personality, The only thing larger than Kinman was his heart and generosity, he was always there to help anyone. He was the type of person that if you needed $100 he would go borrow it, give it to you and not expect anything in return.

He lived to be on the water. If you ever spent any time at Lake Nacimiento in Paso Robles Calif., you most likely saw him with his family and friends out on his pontoon, barbecuing and enjoying the boating lifestyle to its fullest. If you got the pleasure of meting him, I am sure it was an experience you will never forget.

If you ever needed a hand out on the water, Kinman was like AAA for any boater in need. With an extensive mechanical background, he had the skills to get you back on the water, to save your vacation and was always willing to help at a moments notice.

I will truly miss him as a friend. My life will never be the same without him and is not the same because I had the privilege of knowing him.

Kinman leaves behind Tanja, his wife of 21 years, and his two boys Cole, 15 and Kyle 13. They need all the help, love and support.

If you know me, I never solicit for anything. Dave’s family really needs all of our help in the wake of this tragedy. I am asking you, in his memory, to please help them in their time of need. Anything to help a fellow boater’s family would certainly be appreciated and I will pass on your kindness and support personally.

You can donate to the Dave Kinman Family Memorial fund here.

Lastly, I ask if you feel it appropriate to please pass this along to your fellow boaters through your e-mail list, Face book, twitter or any other effective means of communication.

We thank you in advance for your generosity to a fellow boaters family.

Kinman
