Dee Lacey announces support for Steve Martin for supervisor

– Local community leader Dee Lacey has announced her endorsement for Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin’s campaign for county supervisor.

“I am supporting Steve Martin as First District Supervisor because he is an experienced leader,” said Lacey. “He is a good listener, does his homework, is a problem solver and a consensus builder. He understands the issues that the North County is facing and will work for all of us.”

Lacey is a North County community and business leader. She has served on the Paso Robles School Board, Cuesta College Board of Trustees and as a member of the California Mid State Fair Board of Directors. She has been active in many organizations including as a member of the Board of Directors of the San Luis Obispo County Farm Bureau Board, she is a past President of the San Luis Obispo County Cattlemen’s Association, she is also past President of the San Luis Obispo County Cattle Women’s Association, past President of the California Cattle Women’s Association, and past President of the Paso Robles Chamber of Commerce. Along with her husband John Lacey they are Cattle Ranchers and own Lacey Livestock.

” I am honored to receive the endorsement of Dee Lacey,” said Martin. “She is a hardworking community leader that is dedicated to the North County. I look forward to working with her on the Board of Supervisors on issues important to North County.”

Current supervisor Frank Mecham announced earlier this year that he will not be seeking re-election in 2016. Paso Robles Councilman John Hamon announced his intent to run in April. San Miguel Community Services District Director Anthony Kalvans announced his candidacy in June. The election is June 7, 2016.

The first district boundaries extend from the Monterey County line to the north, to the Kern County line to the east, it includes the community of Templeton to the south and extends to the mountain range that includes Adelaide and York Mountain to the west. The first district is about 651,000 acres, with a population of approximately 53,860 residents. There is one incorporated city in the district which is Paso Robles.
