Early morning house fire displaces five Paso residents

No firefighter or civilian injuries reported

Early Monday morning, at approximately 12:25 a.m., Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services was dispatched to a structure fire at 288 San Fernando Rd. at a single family residence, according to the Emergency Services Department’s report.

The first engines reached the scene within approximately four minutes, and the initial fire crew reported smoke coming from inside the residence. It was reported that they immediately determined five of the occupants had evacuated the house, and by utilizing aggressive interior fire attack operations firefighters were able to limit the fires spread to the bedroom of origin; the fire did not extend outside of the bedroom. The fire was declared under control at 12:35 a.m., the report says.

A total of 13 firefighters were required to bring the situation under control, and additional assistance was provided by the Paso Robles Police Department and San Luis Ambulance, the report says.

Fire and smoke damage was reportedly moderate to the building. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation by the fire investigators from the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services, and total dollar loss has not yet been established.

The report stated that temporary housing for the five residents is in process by the American Red Cross.
