Elvin Bishop performing July 17 at fair
The California Mid-State Fair is pleased to announce Elvin Bishop has been confirmed to perform two shows, on Thursday, July 17, 2014, at 6:30pm and 8:30pm, on the Frontier Stage. Elvin Bishop’s performances will be free
with your paid admission to the Fair.
Bishop is a founding member of the Paul Butterfield Blues Band from the early ‘60s and is known for his 1976 smash hit “Fooled Around and Fell In Love.” In 2008, Bishop released the Grammy-nominated CD “The Blues Rolls On,” which led to Bishop being named Blues Blast Magazine’s 2009 Male Blues Artist of the Year.
Bishop’s album, “Red Dog Speaks,” was released in 2010 and features Rock & Roll, Gospel and Doo-Wop genres with guest appearances from Buckwheat Zydeco, Tommy Castro, Ronnie Baker Brooks, and John Németh.
