Event center to purchase six acres of Pioneer Park for expansion

Screen shot 2016-08-15 at 12.29.13 PM–The City of Paso Robles will be selling the Paso Robles Event Center six acres of Pioneer Park for a planned expansion, according to Mid-State Fair CEO Michael Bradley. The event center will own the majority of the land east of the Paso Robles Pioneer Museum, including a basketball court and a softball field, reports say.

The event center and the city are reportedly finishing up negotiations and the deal will be presented to the Paso Robles City Council in October.

The fair’s board of directors will meet later in September to develop strategic and master plans for the event center facility, according to Bradley; something he says hasn’t been done in 20 years.

Bradley says plans for the fair in the future include improving safety even further, as well as “taking care of grandma,” by looking at improving commodities such as restrooms, making water and shade more available, and improving the experience as a whole.
