Faces of Freedom Memorial to host veterans day ceremony
–Veterans Day is fast approaching and this year the “Faces of Freedom” Veterans Memorial in Atascadero will once again host one of the most popular Veterans Day Ceremonies and festivities in San Luis Obispo County.
On Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 11 a.m., members of the public are invited to a Veterans Day ceremony and barbecue at the “Faces of Freedom” Veterans Memorial located near the Atascadero Lake Park & Zoo to honor our nation’s veterans.
This year’s event will include color guards, bag pipes, patriotic music, a historic military fly over performed by the Estrella Warbirds, a wreath laying and words from this year’s local veteran and guest speaker, Bruce Bevans.
A tri tip sandwich barbecue, sponsored by the Atascadero Kiwanis Club, will follow the event. Tri tip sandwich plates are $7. Hot dog plates are $4. Drinks are included. Proceeds support veterans and the many missions of the Faces of Freedom Memorial Foundation.
Members from the Atascadero Veterans Memorial Foundation will be onsite to provide the public with information about the Faces of Freedom Memorial, Heroes Walls and the Engraved Brick pavers that are still available for purchase and placement on the memorial’s “Pathway to Freedom”.
