Family Day at Morro Bay Music Festival June 7

Kids of all ages will enjoy the Morro Bay Music Festival on Saturday, June 7. This one day music extravaganza will take place bayside at Tidelands Park on the Embarcadero from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Tidelands Park features a Pirate Playground and sand box complete with a Pirate ship for climbing and playing out scenes from your favorite pirate movies. Adding to the nautical theme are statues of seals, a whale’s tail and crow’s nest. This is the perfect waterfront backdrop for the Music Festival which will have Dr. Nick the Balloonatic and face painting by Namaste Studios.

The Music Festival will feature all local bands, including Back Bay Betty, Lou Mars, Chicago Mike, and the ever-popular Louie Ortega and the Lovers. Lenny Blue Band and Lou Lou and the Cow Tippers round out the day of musicians taking the stage. Arts and craft vendors will be on hand and food, wine and beer will be available for sale including a delicious BBQ. Bring your lawns chairs and enjoy the day by the Bay.

Admission will be $2 per person at the door, with kids 12 and under FREE. All proceeds from the Morro Bay Music Festival go to the Morro Bay Harbor Festival which takes place October 4-5.

The Morro Bay Harbor Festival is in its 33rd year, and takes place the first weekend in October. The two-day event brings together a cross section of the community to celebrate Morro Bay’s Harbor, coastal lifestyles, environment and maritime heritage. Significant funds are generated from this event that are distributed to many local non-profit organizations. Over $500,000 has been awarded to participating nonprofit organizations since it was established.
