R&B singer heats up the night at Vina Robles
–When the temperature reads 100 degrees, it’s hard to fathom it getting any hotter; then, Maxwell enters. Not only did he raise the temperature but he raised the roof at Vina Robles Ampitheatre Thursday night and had the audience swooning from start to finish.
It was hard not to groove and grind to his sexy, soulful songs. Looking out to the audience of couples and mostly women, Maxwell’s ability to reach into the heart of each and every fan made for a intimate evening. This R&B veteran delivered a flawless performance with the help of his background singers and band.
Focusing on his “Black Summers’ Night” albums and singing his latest single, Lake by the Ocean, Maxwell crooned his way across the stage and it was hard to take your eyes off him.
His slick dove grey suit and dark shades with his smooth performance hinted a throw back to Sam Cooke, Marvin Gaye, Al Green…a sexy, soulful groove that melts hearts and inhabits many of bedrooms.
He’s charismatic, humble, and took moments to express his gratitude for his fans and his success. By the looks of it, he was enjoying his time in at Vina Robles, he was in his element because he continued to perform for the crowd even after his stop time. It was a gorgeous evening to behold.
