Last audit in 2012 revealed 97 findings Paso Robles Joint Unified School District logo

– The Paso Robles Joint Unified School District recently completed a Federal Program Monitoring (FPM) in which eight state reviewers from the California Department of Education evaluated eighty-three requirements within the district’s federal and state programs. After the three-day evaluation, the FPM team reported that there were zero findings.

Beth Anselmi, the regional team leader, said that usually for a review of this size, the panel will report between 15-20 findings. She went on to say that in the three years that she has been a reviewer, only two other districts have had zero findings. The panel performs 120 reviews per year.

The FPM focused on six different categories of program review: Before and after school programs, compensatory education, education equity, early education and support, English learner, and improving teacher quality. Staff members had to provide evidence and documentation of programs and were then interviewed by the reviewers. The panel of reviewers also visited three of the district’s elementary school sites to interview staff and evaluate the effectiveness of implementation: Pat Butler, Virginia Peterson, and Winifred Pifer.

PRJUSD last went through a federal audit in 2012. During that time, 97 findings were discovered. Superintendent Chris Williams credits this year’s success to the district goals, the Guiding Principles, and highly effective staff, led by Categorical Specialist Lynne Robinson. “I am extremely pleased to see the unprecedented results and I would like to acknowledge the outstanding staff, the tremendous teamwork, and the improvement of many structures and systems aligned to student success,” he said.
