Fire forces evacuations in Oak Park 

Fire at Oak ParkThree families were displaced Saturday night when a fire that started in a shed spread to homes in the Oak Park community on the north end of Paso Robles.

Paso Robles firefighters responded at 8:59 p.m. to an exterior shed fire at 3012 Pine Street. Firefighters arrived to scene to find a 10’ x 10’ exterior shed fully involved in fire and spreading into a four unit multi-family apartment complex.

Firefighters immediately stretched fire attack lines to attack the shed fire and additional fire attack lines into the building. Fire attack on the shed was complicated by several propane tanks.

Firefighters achieved very quick knockdown on the fire at 3012 Pine Street limiting damage to the exterior. The structure at 3010 Pine Street suffered minor fire and smoke damage. Damage to 3008 Pine Street was limited to smoke damage. The fire was declared under control at 9:49 p.m.

All occupants of the building were able to safely exit at the time of the fire and no firefighter or civilian injuries were reported. The American Red Cross and Paso Robles Housing Authority provided emergency housing to the three families that were displaced by the fire.

A total of 31 firefighters from the Paso Robles Department of Emergency Services, CalFire/SLO County Fire Department, Atascadero Fire Department, Templeton Fire Department and San Miguel Fire Department responded to the incident. Paso Robles Police Department assisted with evacuations, repopulation and street closures.
