Four injured due to auto collision in Paso Robles

Driver may have suffered medical emergency when he lost control of his vehiclecar crash

–Four California residents have been injured as a result of a collision involving multiple vehicles that occurred Monday morning at approximately 5 a.m. according to California Highway Patrol.

Sean Coffin, a 27-year-old Paso Robles man was driving his 2005 Ford Ranger northbound on Highway 101, north of the North Spring Street off ramp, when he lost control of his vehicle. Coffin’s vehicle collided with another vehicle that was being driven by 35-year-old Oceanside resident Michael Lockwood. It appears that Coffin may have suffered a medical emergency just prior to the collision, which may have caused him to lose control of his vehicle, according to CHP.

Lockwood and one of his passengers, 29-year-old Melissa Lockwood, suffered major injuries as a result of this collision. Another passenger in his vehicle, a 13 year old female, sustained minor injuries.

The Ford Ranger driven by Coffin overturned during this collision. Coffm sustained major injuries.

Drugs and/or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in this collision, however, the collision investigation is ongoing.
