dancing_couple_fifties_clip_art_12306The City of Atascadero is inviting locals to join the resurgence of Ballroom Dance as so many others have already done. Discover the self-confidence, physical benefits, and just plain fun that dancing can provide. These new dance sessions are only $36 per session for Atascadero resident or $39.50 per session for non-residents. There is a $5 discount for additional family members who sign up with you. Sessions meet Tuesday evenings from 7-8 p.m. at the Pavilion on the Lake in Atascadero.

Session I began on January 6th and runs through the end of the month. Session II begins in February and then successive sessions run each month through May. Registration is currently being accepted at the Colony Park Community Center located at 5599 Traffic Way in Atascadero, or online at www.atascadero.org. All dance sessions include beginning, intermediate and advanced instruction to accommodate the varying abilities of the class. Students may enroll in all five or choose sessions separately.

Begin the New Year with a Latin beat. Session I is all about Tango and Salsa. Session II will continue the Latin rhythm with instruction in Rumba, Cha-Cha and Salsa. Session III will focus on the basics of Swing and Foxtrot. Waltz will be introduced in Session IV while continuing more steps in Swing & Foxtrot. Session V will get everyone ready for summer events, weddings, parties, cruises, and concerts in the park with more Swing, Waltz, Latin, and the introduction of Club Foxtrot.
