Annual Harvest Marathon returns Oct. 30

Harvest marathon

Proceeds benefit school district

– The 7th annual Paso Robles Harvest Marathon will be held on Sunday, Oct. 30, and will once again start and finish at Le Vigne Winery and will offer beautiful views of the vineyards at harvest time. The weekend kicks off this year with a pasta feed, prepared by award-winning chef Gregg Wangard, and wine tasting in Downtown City Park on Saturday, Oct. 29.

This event is a certified Boston Marathon qualifier, sanctioned by USA Track & Field, and is part of the California Half and Full Marathon Series. All runners will receive a Harvest Marathon shirt, swag bag, free race photo, and breakfast. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top male and female runners in the marathon and half. The winners in each age division (over21) will go home with a bottle of Paso Robles wine.

The Harvest Marathon is sponsored by the Paso Robles Joint Unified School District and the proceeds will benefit all students in the district. Paso Robles Harvest Marathon director, Rich Clayton, is looking forward to making this a true community event. He says, “We will have events for kids to help promote healthy lifestyles and to teach our kids about healthy bodies and the connection to healthy minds. Exercise provides an unparalleled stimulus, creating an environment in which the brain is ready, willing, and able. This is going to be a celebration of our active community.”

This is a family-friendly event and runners of all ages and abilities are welcome to participate. Everyone is encouraged to come out to Downtown City Park on Saturday and to Le Vigne on Sunday to support the runners and enjoy the event.

Discounts available for PRJUSD employees, members of the military, and groups of 10 or more. For more information about the full marathon, half marathon, or 5K, or to register, please visit our website at www.harvestmarathon.com. Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Please contact Rich Clayton at rsclayton@pasoschools.org if interested in becoming a sponsor or hosting a booth at one of our events.
