The fitness challenge is open to the community

–GIVE Fitness health club has partnered with 10 local charities and is providing the community an opportunity to raise money for each charity by participating in the “Challenge for Charities.” Members and non-members can participate in one or more of 10 different fitness activities, or challenges and GIVE Fitness donates $1 for each challenge to a charity. Each challenge is associated with a specific charity.

Owner Josh Donovan came up with the idea. “We want to highlight our message of ‘You Get Fit. We GIVE Back’ while also highlighting some of the great non-profit organizations we have in our community,” said Donovan

General Manager Tiffany Riojas said “We are extending the offer to non-members to come in and participate in the challenge for free. We help the charities and it gives people an opportunity to check out what we have to offer.”

The challenge runs until Feb. 28. For each challenge completed GIVE Fitness donates $1 to the associated charity. Complete the “Skillmill Sprint” and the donation goes to ECHO (El Camino Homeless Organization). Complete “Try a Class” the donation goes to the Family Care Network. Complete “Jacob’s Ladder” the donation goes to Jack’s Helping Hand. “Attend Service Saturday” and the donation is given to Lighthouse. Complete “Lift for Life” and the donation goes to Lifewater. “Selfie with Staff” supports The Link. “Battle Rope supports the Mighty Oaks Warrior Programs. “Wear and Share” supports Parents for Joy. “Row for Rise” supports RISE and “Pull for the Printery” supports the Atascadero Printery Foundation. Participation information is also available from each charity.

Participants who complete all 10 challenges receive a “Challenges for Charities” t-shirt and are automatically entered to win two tickets to Disneyland. The club also donates $10 to the challenge fund. The amount of funds to be awarded to each charity and the winner of the Disneyland tickets will be announced at the club’s anniversary celebration on March 4
