Grape growers offer seminar on rootstock and unusual varietals

The public is invited to join the Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area (IGGPRA) for a seminar titled, All About Rootstock and Unusual Varietals of the Paso Robles Region. The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 7, at J. Lohr Vineyard, located at 6169 Airport Rd, Paso Robles, Calif.

Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from 2 speakers: IGGPRA Board Member/Seminar Chair Dr. Lowell Zelinski of Precision Ag Consulting in Paso Robles will cover topics that include rootstocks and associated issues, and Diego Barison, Director Field Operations and Customer Relations at Novavine, Inc. in Santa Maria will discuss unusual grape varietals viable in the Paso Robles Region. Various tastings of unusual single and mixed varietals will be poured to attendees 21-years-old and over.

About the Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area

Founded in August 2002, the Independent Grape Growers of the Paso Robles Area (IGGPRA) is an association of viticulture industry members dedicated to providing hands-on, actionable knowledge for its members and the community involved in growing wine grapes in the Paso Robles American Viticulture Area (AVA). Through their online marketplace listing service, ongoing seminars, and other services, IGGPRA provides a networking forum to promote cooperation and collaboration between the over 200 IGGPRA Member Grape Growers (representing 27,000 fruit-producing acres and 40 grape varietals), and interested international grape growers, grape buyers, vintners, and vineyard suppliers.
