The Templeton Unified School District held a reception for and honored retiring board Trustees Lisa Hammond and Nelson Yamagata (pictured above left) for their four years of service. The reception was held prior to the school board meeting last Thursday, Nov. 20.

THS Graduate Adam Hinrichs recognized for exceptional achievement

Templeton High School teacher Tyler LaSalle congratulates Mr. and Mrs. Hinrichs (above right) on their son’s achievement. Nominated by LaSalle, THS graduate Adam Hinrich was recognized by the California “Yes I Can” Awards in the area of Overall Academic Achievement.

These awards celebrate the achievements of children and youth with exceptionalities; encourage these individuals to reach their highest potential; and increase public awareness of the abilities, aspirations, and personal qualities of those with disabilities.

Adam was one of only a few juniors enrolled in eight academic classes and during that time also enrolled in an online class at a local community college to fulfill his third year of a foreign language. He finished his high school career with a cumulative weighted GPA of 4.06.

“Adam is an inspiration to others for his determination and ability to navigate his vision deficits,” said the staff report prepared by THS Principal Andrew Cherry. “Adam is one of those individuals with a “disability” that makes you ponder the definition of “disabled”.”
