High School debuts broadcast video streaming

Paso Robles High School Hall of FameThis Wednesday is not only the annual open house event at Paso Robles High School, but also a debut event for the new Broadcast Video Studio to live-stream events from around the campus into various classrooms during the evening’s events.

The Broadcast Video Studio and it associated curriculum are part of the Career Technical Education (CTE) grants that were awarded to Paso Robles Public Schools and partially funded through Measure T. The Broadcast Studio was one of the final projects of the CTE Information Technology grant, which integrates with the new graphic design lab and computer lab to provide the students of Paso Robles with a state-of-the-art video and audio production facility. The studio was completed in January of this year, and students have been working on new operational protocols and procedures, culminating in this debut event on Wednesday night.

The broadcast studio is the only one of its kind in the county, and one of only a handful in the state. It has the capabilities of producing multimedia broadcasts, both recorded and live, with capabilities of streaming to all digitally equipped classrooms in the district, or live on the district’s web page. We are extending this invitation to our network broadcast partners in the hope that you will come visit and see for yourself the strides Paso Robles Public Schools has taken towards preparing young men and women to enter the field of broadcast journalism.
