Holiday Tree Lighting ceremony Nov. 23 in city park

The City’s annual Light Up The Night Tree Lighting Extravaganza in Nov. 23, starting at 6 p.m.

Paso Robles will never be the same! The inaugural Light Up the Night tree lighting extravaganza will set the tone for the holidays blending the traditional “flip of the switch” by Mrs. Claus and caroling at the gazebo, with a spectacular addition – a jolt of illumination to trees throughout the park. Over 35,000 lights will adorn the spruce, cedar, and oak trees in the downtown park. 2012 is the inaugural year and promises to be a heartfelt family celebration.

Proceeds for the event benefit the Cancer Support Community, our local 501c(3) non-profit organization that provides services for local cancer patients and their families free of charge. Visitors will be treated to a one-of-a-kind holiday experience as they stroll in the glow of the white lights in the park, shopping at the Downtown Merchants Association Bazaar, and sipping hot chocolate. All the while, dance groups, choirs, carolers and marching bands showcasing Paso Robles’ rich culture and civic pride will be performing to enhance the evening.

The Light Up the Night celebration is the vision come-to-fruition of our Board Member Scot Burns, and his family in honor of his late father who succumbed to cancer. This event is a tribute to him and the countless loved ones lost to cancer as well as a celebration to the over 26 million survivors in the world today. We hope you will join us in our cause and support the Light Up the Night celebration and shine the light on all that is so right and beautiful in Paso.
