Paso Robles Downtown City Park was packed with hundreds of art lovers of all ages on Saturday for the main even for Paso Arts Fest. The annual event filled the park with more than half of the exhibits and activities dedicated to children.

“I’m very impressed,” Atascadero resident Steve LaSalle said. “This seems it has grown exponentially.”

The festival had live entertainment on two stages with music and dancing. There was a mime, a variety of arts and crafts for both children and adults, artist vendors, food, live painting and art demonstrations. In front of Studios on the Park, volunteers made prints using a steamroller.

“I think it’s bigger,” Paso Robles Downtown Main Street Association Executive Director Norma Moye said. “I think it’s classier. It’s just fantastic. What’s really exciting is that there are so many families. It’s really a class act. The word I can say is ‘wow.'”

Paso Robles Mayor Steve Martin spent the afternoon welcoming visitors. “It’s great to see the park full of activities. I think it’s become a fixture in downtown Paso,” he said.

The arts event is held every year over Memorial Day weekend. The event kicked off Friday night with an art maker dinner, keynote speaker and after party. The weekend ended with a sunset reception and art tour at Hearst Castle on Sunday evening.
