Hwy 101 in Paso Robles closed overnight next week

Updates from Caltrans on Hwy 101, Hwy 46, and Hwy 1

A City of Paso Robles project to improve the 13th Street Bridge over U.S. Highway 101 will result in full highway closures during the overnight hours next week.

  • A full closure of southbound Hwy 101 at the Hwy 101 / 46E Interchange will begin Monday night, July 8th from 9 pm to 5 am. Motorists will detour off Hwy 101 to Riverside Avenue before returning to Hwy 101 at Pine Street.
  • A full closure of northbound Hwy 101 at Paso Robles Street will take place on Tuesday night, July 9th from 9 pm to 5 am. Motorists will detour off / on Hwy 101 at Paso Robles Street.

Rumble strip project on Hwy 46E begins next week

A project to install rumble strips on Hwy 46E from the Hwy 46 / 41 interchange to the Kern County Line will begin Monday night, July 8th.

Motorists will encounter one-way reversing traffic control with flaggers Monday through Friday during the overnight hours from 7 pm to 7 am and from 9 am to 4 pm during the daytime.

Beginning July 14th, roadwork will take place Sunday night through Friday morning from 7 pm to 7 am and from 9 am to 4 pm during the daytime. There will be flaggers at the Hwy 46 / 41 “Y” to assist motorists with traffic control.

Electronic message boards will be activated to inform the public about this project. Motorists can expect a delay not to exceed 20 minutes.

Hwy 1/Rocky Creek project continues with daytime work and intermittent overnight closures

Screen Shot 2013-07-06 at 4.58.00 PMDaytime roadwork on Hwy1 at Rocky Creek continues next week (Mon, July 8 thru Friday, July 12) from 7 am to 5 pm with 10- minute delays as needed. Through traffic has been shifted to the newly constructed southbound half of the viaduct while work continues on the northbound half.

There won’t be any overnight full closures next week, but there will be night roadwork and traffic may be held for up to 10-minutes as needed from 9 pm to 7 am starting Monday, July 8 and running thru Friday morning on July 12 at 7 am. There will be no overnight closures on Friday or Saturday, and no overnight work on Sunday, July 7th.

The closures and delays are needed to move equipment and deliver materials to construct a soldier pile wall. The project to construct a permanent viaduct about 1.5 miles south of Carmel near the Rocky Creek Bridge began on September 4, 2012. Completion is scheduled by the end of next October – weather permitting.
