Kimm Schaefer dies at 53

–Central Coast resident Kimm Andre Schaefer, age 53, passed away on the evening of October 29, 2015, at 8:27 p.m., after a four-year battle with breast cancer. She was being visited and comforted by family members and was surrounded by family at the time of her passing. Schaefer was in the care of Central Coast Hospice and she was cared for and attended to by their great nursing staff, in addition to being cared for by family members, while in the home of her sister Lisa Wallravin, who lives in Atascadero.

Schaefer was born in Salinas on June 26, 1962. She was the first child of Marie E. Ynostrosa and Glenn T. Schaefer. She lived in many places within the state of California, such as Soledad, Salinas, Atascadero, Fresno, and Atwater.

Schaefer worked for the Internal Revenue Service in Fresno, during the tax season. She worked at the Bank of America, in Fresno. She spent a number of years providing customer service in retail as well. Schaefer was especially known for her strength, her laugh and beautiful smile. She loved fishing, camping, barbecuing, and gardening. She loved family and was admired and loved by so many. Her favorite place to spend time was with her feet in the sand on the beaches of Morro Bay. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, cousin, aunt, grandmother, aunt and friend.

Survivors include her daughter, Amber Reeks, of Fresno, her mother, Marie E. Ynostrosa, of Paso Robles, her father, Glenn T. Schaefer, of Silver Springs, Nev., her brother, Matthew Schaefer, of Auburn, and four sisters, Lisa Wallravin, of Atascadero, Lori Radecki, of Paso Robles, Monique Martinez, of Atascadero, and Carla Pryer, of Atascadero; as well as 4 grandsons, 1 granddaughter, 3 nephews and 9 nieces.

Kimm is preceded in death by both maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Valentine Ynostrosa, of Atasderco, CA, and both paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ehregott Schaefer of Paso Robles.

Per her wishes, there will be no services and in lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Breast Cancer Society in Kimm’s name, and/or making a contribution to Central Coast Hospice.
