Kiwanis winemaker dinner and Must! raise $60,000 for Boys and Girls Club

past Winemaker's Dinner– This year’s 5th annual Atascadero Kiwanis Mayors’ Winemakers Dinner at the Pavilion on the Lake held last month raised more than $30,000 to Boys and Girls Club of North San Luis Obispo County. Must! Charities, a nonprofit organization formed by the wine industry in the North County, is matching the Kiwanis donation, making the total close to $60,000 for support of an after-school program in Atascadero.

The dinner featured a gourmet meal and 33 winemakers. More than 200 guests attended this year’s event. The silent and live auctions featured not only fine North County wines, but woodwork, art, jewelry and more created by Kiwanis club members just for this event.

As a result, the single evening event netted close to $45,000. As promised, seventy five percent of the proceeds from this Kiwanis fundraiser will go toward supporting the Boys and Girls Club with an Atascadero-based after school program. The program is being done in cooperation with the Boys and Girls Club of North SLO County, and will be held at the Community Church in Atascadero. Kiwanis also provided support for the Boys and Girls Club’s Atascadero activities last year.
