Library releases butterflies at party

Two-year-old Ian MacCallum and his dad watch a painted lady butterfly snack on a piece of watermelon before flying free at the Paso Robles City Library. The butterflies have been on exhibit in the children’s area for the last few weeks as visitors witnessed the transformation from caterpillar to chrysalis to butterfly. The butterflies were the guests of honor during a special release party held on the library patio Friday, May 9.
