Hundreds attend annual event

–On a chilly Saturday night, hundreds of adults and kids bundled up, lining the streets of downtown Paso Robles. There was a lot energy and excitement for the 55th annual Holiday Light Parade to start.

“The theme for this year is the Music and Magic of Christmas. There’s sixty lit entries. What judges are looking for are the most lit up floats and the story they tell.” said Executive Director of Paso Robles Main Street Association Norma Moye. Moye has been a leader in the community for decades; Saturday, July 2, 2016 declared as “Norma Moye Day” by mayor Steve Martin, in honor of her birthday and her dedication to the Paso Robles area.

Amy Young, riding on the NCI Affiliates float, was enjoying her first time at the parade with other NCI employees.

From 9th to 14th Street and circling around the downtown park, colorfully lit floats slowly cruised by cheering fans.

The community was treated to dancing troops, horses, music, caroling and even a camel from Zoo to You. The pièce de résistance was the final float, carrying the highly anticipated Mr. Claus who had all the little ones smiling and cheering. Mr. Claus was joined by the Mrs. and a few of their merry elves.christmas-light-parade-paso-robles
